Whirlwind

This last month and then some has truly been a whirlwind for Frank and I! A quick summary in my favorite format follows below:

Highs:
1) Seeing tons of friends and family before, during, and after the move!
2) Getting our bed - the air mattress we brought with us for until our stuff arrived developed a leak, a slow leak, but nonetheless a leak... Of course the rushed patch arrived the same day as our bed - humorous picture - fedex guy with envelope juxtapositioned against moving people with all our boxes!
3) All the new things - snow last Wednesday, work, things to explore, friends, house, carpet (soon we hope), and the list continues.

Lows:
1) Patterson (our cat) passed away the day after Thanksgiving. Death is always sad but it couldn't have been a better scenario - he'd been playing with 15 people for two days and was the center of the universe at the cabin and he passed away completely peacefully on the rug in front of the fireplace watching the Sawtooth Mountains. Not a bad way to go... We miss our little impish, alpha-male, P-man!
2) Picking out wigs with my mom.
3) My flight from Chicago to Dulles - Dulles doesn't even have taxis at 2 AM!

As we get back to real life, we will try to update this blog more often. We hope this finds you all well. Happy holidays and know that you'll be in our thoughts!

New Blog for a New Adventure

As Frank and I prepare for our next adventure in our journey of life, we decided a blog may be a good way to keep in touch with our friends and family. Our emotions are high - we are excited and nervous! We will miss the friends and family we are moving away (or further away) from, but we are excited to be near (or nearer) to other friends and family. We look forward to many visitors in Washington, DC. Stay tuned for updates over the next months as we settle in...
